How can I make the most of them when it comes to my big-day make-up? Natalie says: Emphasising your cheekbones for your big day is something that looks so flattering and youthful and is so easy to do! I use three key products for this. Firstly, after foundation’s applied use a contouring product. Cream or powder works best and opt for a shade that’s two hues darker than your skin tone to give a shadow effect. Place this just under the cheekbone and blend. Next, a pop of colour adds a healthy glow. I love coral and peach as these give you that flushed look. Nars-Orgasm blusher’s perfect. Concentrate this around the apple of your cheeks and take up towards your temple for a lifting effect. Finally, add highlighter. I love Becca Cosmetics products as they’re so radiant. Sweep along your upper cheekbones, brow bone, and inner corner of your eyes for a gorgeous glow. WASH AND GO I’ve been advised not to wash my hair on my wedding morning so it goes up easier but I’m worried it’ll go greasy. Help! Harriet says: The last thing you want on your big day is to feel awful because you haven’t washed your hair so use shampoo and conditioner but avoid using additional products such as serums. A good stylist should be able to create the look you choose whether you’ve washed it or not. Your stylist can use different techniques to make the style hold. Root crimping adds texture and firmness and volumising powder stiffens your hair to prevent grips slipping out. Using lots of firm-hold hairspray will also help to keep your do in place all day and into the evening. I find that styling greasy hair is actually quite difficult as it makes it very slippy. You know your hair and how you feel so go with your instinct and your stylist will work with you. Style it I have shoulder-length hair and can’t do much with it so I’m not sure what style to opt for. Can you advise? Tina says: You could opt for hair extensions to make your locks appear thicker and you can colour them to match your natural shade. To create the illusion of fullness, you could also have hair pieces pinned into your up do or pin your curls into a bun ring. A professional stylist will be able to work with your hair to get the best results, no matter what the length. I’d recommend booking a trial before the big day so you and your pro know just the look you’re going for.
