PHOTOGRAPHY 59  CHOOSE THE MUST-HAVE PICS “Talk to your photographer about getting the type of shots you want. They’ll be able to advise on the best way to capture them or alternatives that’ll create even better results.” – Graeme “Must-have shots can’t always be set in stone. The weather can allow or prevent certain images. Being able to go outside for sparkler exits or couple shots can easily be ruined by rain. Make a note of the people you want captured so that can be done at any time and at any point. Keep it simple and trust your photographer.” – Jonathan “I work with couples that allow me free artistic reign to photograph what I see as it happens, so my best advice is to forget I’m there and to be yourself. When it comes to selecting images for your album don’t choose based on emotive reasons. Choose images that flow in a sequence that’ll tell the story of your day. Or let your photographer choose the best images for you and create a design.” – Yvonne USE THE PICS AFTER THE BIG DAY “Albums are great to look back on with fond memories, USB drives are handy for taking round to your family and friends and large prints look amazing on a feature wall at home. Extras don’t often come cheap, but if they’re worth it to you then make sure you ask about available options.” – Daniel “After your big day, if you post your pics on social media it’s always nice to give your photographer a mention. This will help other brides-to-be when they’re researching and it’ll give your pro more work too!” – Graeme “I always encourage couples to have their images printed and on display in an album. Technology develops so quickly – from the floppy disk to DVD and then USB. It might not be long until USBs aren’t being used anymore but prints will never go out of fashion.” – Jonathan “This will be one of the best days of your lives and the images are the only tangible memory so print, print, print! Have a coffee table book made that you can take out and look at to relive your day. You can get decent high street prints made but if you want quality images that’ll last, get them through your photographer. Professional prints and albums are costlier but with good reason as they’ll stand the test of time.” – Yvonne CONTACT OUR EXPERTS Daniel Hughes, danielhughesphotography.com Graeme Simpson, uptherighttreephotography.co.uk Jonathan Flint, jonathanflintphotography.co.uk Kyra Williams, firetreephoto.co.uk Yvonne Lishman, yvonnelishmanphotography.co.uk jonathanflintphotography.co.uk firetreephoto.co.uk firetreephoto.co.uk yvonnelishmanphotography.co.uk yvonnelishmanphotography.co.uk uptherighttreephotography.co.uk HOW TO…
