Katy and Joe met back in early 2016 at a housewarming party as Joe was friends with Katy’s brother. “We got talking and ended up going out to meet my brother in town later that night, where I was warned not to kiss him, but of course I did!” laughs Katy. “We ended up exchanging numbers and, thanks to my wonderful brother and seeing how much we liked each other, we had our first date and here we are nearly nine years later!” After romance blossomed, Joe planned an athome proposal for Katy, “I remember the day like it was only yesterday! It was April 2nd and we had just come home from doing the food shopping early on a Sunday morning! I never wanted a grand proposal, so the fact it was in my favourite place with our fur baby there, little cockapoo Benny, it was a dream come true and I immediately said yes!” After setting the big date for the 17th April 2025, it was second time’s a charm for this couple when finding their big-day venue. Katy shares, “We went to view The Boathouse in April ’24, which meant we got a true feel for what the whole setting could potentially look like on the day.
