Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2020 (Issue 45)

BRINGING THE OUTSIDE IN We were going to have an al fresco summer wedding next year with masses of seasonal locally grown blooms. Now we’re planning a more intimate autumn celebration in a beautiful indoor setting and I’m not sure what type of flowers will be available at this time of year. How can we still bring a natural touch to our big day? Sue says: Bringing greenery inside gives a warm reminder of summer and hiring real plants for your wedding is not only cost-effective, but an eco-friendly way of giving the celebration a natural feel. Green is a cool colour too that works well with a wide range of big-day palettes. You could also give plants as gifts for helpers and special members of the wedding party and have succulents as place names to double up as favours for each guest, as a lasting memento of the day.  Sue Huckle | Owner | www.poshplants.com SEASONAL STYLE I’m on the hunt for a showstopping dress that’s suitable for my autumn wedding – any ideas? Victoria says: Personally, I love a good sleeve and they are definitely still huge in the world of bridal and the bigger the better. At this time of year, when the weather’s unpredictable, it can be chilly in the morning and warm in the afternoon, so you may want a wedding gown with a sleeve but perhaps in a more delicate fabric. With Sassi Holford’s Sara from the newly released Asteria collection, the bodice is impeccably structured, with a sheer tulle back and plunging neckline. Featuring beautiful sheer bishop’s sleeves, the skirt flows wistfully out from under a waist-defining sash, that sweeps down to the floor to complete the ethereal look – perfect for an autumn wedding!
