Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2020 (Issue 45)

76 I nspired by the famed Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, this stunning shoot is a celebration of brides who love to think outside the box. Set against the backdrop of one-of-a-kind Norfolk venue Sennowe Park, fabulous florals and bold colours combine with cutting-edge wedding dresses and bridal separates by haute couture fashion label Bowen Dryden. Model and coordinator of the shoot Rohiny Belani explains, “We wanted to portray a dynamic and independent bride, who was not afraid of breaking the norm, like Frida Kahlo. Just as her paintings often had strong autobiographical elements, mixing realism with fantasy, we tried to create that feel. We chose Sennowe Park because it reflected influences portrayed in some of Frida’s self portraits. With a wealth of beautiful backdrops in the historic rooms, orangery and gardens, the photographer Migle was able to capture the theme perfectly.” “The vision was bohemian and the plaits complemented each dress perfectly. I wanted the braids to bring a simplicity to the story with a touch of editorial to mirror the uniqueness of the beautiful dresses, accessories and venue.” – Sam Kay, wedding hair and make-up specialist “For the white skirts and corsets we went for a soft effortless bronze eye and nude lip to complement the boho braids and floral accessories. For the blush dresses we opted for a simple yet flawless matte skin with romantic and delicate pink lips and cheeks.” – Emily Smith, make-up artist “To go with the look I used stunning white orchids and dreamy pink roses with various different dried flower designs in the setting.” – Gita Zitkine, florist
