While she held the horses for him, they started chatting and ended up exchanging numbers before he left. From that chance encounter they went on their first date to a local pub and hit it off straight away. “We realised we’d actually gone to sixth form together but had never really noticed each other then,” reveals Philippa. “We got on really well, shared similar interests and hopes for the future and the rest, as they say, is history.” A few years later, David popped the question while they were on holiday in Cyprus. “We’d gone for a romantic walk by the sea and were sitting on a rock watching the sun go down when he asked me to marry him. I had no idea he was going to propose, it was a complete surprise,” remembers Philippa. They set the date for 5 th July, 2019 and opted for a country rustic-themed wedding at Bressingham Hall & High Barn. Read on for Philippa’s account of their big day... David and I only looked at one venue and we both fell in love with it. We’d toyed with the idea of a church wedding but once we got to Bressingham Hall it was everything we’d dreamed of.
