87 REGIONAL SHOOT DREAMS Sweet Create an enchanted wedding indoors or out Images courtesy of Richard Jarmy and Laura Anne Photography O utdoor ceremonies are quite the thing but with the unpredictable British weather it always pays to have a plan B. Here, local suppliers show how to add a wonderful whimsical feel to your big day, come rain or shine. Norfolk’s Applewood Hall provided the perfect backdrop complete with blank canvas marquee and glorious grounds. The venue’s owner and wedding planner Kiera Goymour got together with Charlotte Staff Flowers to realise their vision for an outdoor-inspired wooded wonderland. “We considered what was currently popular in weddings; the simplicity of natural styling, lots of foliage and green colour schemes, and decided to turn it on its head!” explains Kiera. Inspired by the magical illustrations of Cicely Mary Barker’s much-loved Flower Fairies books, the brief was set for an enchanted woodland theme with the added challenge of bringing it to life indoors. Embracing the colours of spring the aim was to show that whatever the weather you can still have an outdoorsy feel. Charlotte says, “Spring is such a beautiful time of year, it’s amazing to see the first blooms after a long winter. Primrose, cowslip, crocus and violet immediately came to mind, so we decided on a palette of delicate purple and soft yellow.” As well as an opportunity to get creative, they wanted the finished look to be something that couples planning their wedding could recreate for themselves. “Based on this, we pulled together a brilliant creative team of Norfolk wedding suppliers to help us design a playful, but relatable, interpretation of a woodland theme,” Charlotte adds. Extra details like fairy doors and miniature birdcages added to the enchantment.
