Your East Anglian Wedding - June/July2020 (Issue 43)

Local experts tackle your wedding worries HOT TOPIC IN THE FRAME We’re both really camera-shy and it’s casting a shadow over our wedding plans We want a wedding album as a memento of our day but we’ve no idea where to start when it comes to choosing the right photographer to make us feel relaxed and confident. Katie says: Finding the right person to suit you as a couple can be tough, especially as there are so many talented creatives out there who can produce beautiful images of your day. So where to start? Here are a few handy hints: ❤ Look for a photographer whose style you like and follow them on social media, making sure you check in with their new posts to get an idea of their personality and interests. Perhaps reach out to them and try to arrange a casual chat over the phone or in person to get a better impression of who they are and how they work. ❤ When you feel like you’re ready to reach out to a photographer, why not give them some fun facts about you as a couple, how you became engaged, what your perfect date night looks like or your favourite holiday destinations. Maybe even ask them some random quickfire questions; their answers could be hilarious! By creating a rapport with your photographer, you’ll get better photographs as you’re more likely to let your guard down and feel relaxed and at ease in front of the camera. ❤ Your chosen professional should be someone you feel you can contact at any time, to discuss your plans, for advice or just a catch up. Choose someone who will slip in seamlessly throughout your day, as if they were one of your guests. ❤ Meet up before you book. This is the perfect way to get to know one another. They may bring a portfolio with them and you will have the chance to ask any questions you want. ❤ Check for testimonials on Facebook, Instagram or their website. It will help to paint a clearer picture of how well they’ve worked with other couples. Katie Jade | Photographer | www.katiejade.co.uk 84
