Your East Anglian Wedding - June/July2020 (Issue 43)

76 LOOKING FORWARD I was due to get married in May but have had to postpone it. I haven’t been looking after my hair and skin very well during lockdown and now I need to kickstart my beauty regime. What would you advise? Amanda says: Some of my brides have been worried that styles will have moved on in the time that elapses before their big day. Personally, I think things will be very similar to now. Looking at next year’s trends, soft texture will still be the main focus for hair, lots of textural elements but nothing too structured that’s uncomfortable to wear. Braids and plaits are still very much alive, along with soft natural make-up. Looks can date over the years and we always try to help and advise brides on how to create a timeless effect so that in 20 years, when you look back over your wedding photos, you’ll still think how beautiful and radiant you looked. Now is the time to get your hair and skin in great condition. If you’re hoping to have an updo then growing your hair, making sure it’s healthy and not over processed, will really help your stylist on the day. Keeping regular appointments when we’re all back up and running is important too! Ask your stylist for advice on any special treatments or shampoos to help to get your locks in tip- top condition too. For your complexion, I’d suggest: ❤ Use products suited to your skin type. ❤ Wash with a cream or foaming cleanser and remove with a warm, clean cloth. Make sure to pat your skin dry rather than rubbing it. ❤ Follow with a natural toner or splash with iced water. ❤ Apply serum next; I love anything with Vitamin C as it’s great for both healing and brightening the skin. ❤ Moisturise – products with Vitamin B or Niacinamide are wonderful for dry areas, eczema or acne. ❤ Finally, and this is so important, wear a minimum of Factor 30 sun protection on your face every day, all the time – even in the winter. It will protect your skin from UV and UVB rays and help prevent fine lines appearing.
