Your East Anglian Wedding - June/July2020 (Issue 43)

REAL WEDDINGS 33  Matt wore a navy three-piece suit from Next, a coral tie and pocket square and he and the groomsmen all had coral flower buttonholes to match the bridesmaids’ bouquets. “I really wanted my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and confident in what they were wearing, so I asked them to pick their own dresses from the Dessy range to suit their body shape, all in the same navy colour as the groomsmen’s suits,” adds Rebecca. SETTING THE SCENE “We both had the jitters about having so much attention on us for the entire day, but on the whole, we were just so excited! We’d been together for 10 years and had been planning our wedding for 18 months and couldn’t wait to say our vows and spend the rest of the day partying with our loved ones.” When it came to the décor they let the hall and church take centre stage. “They’re both incredibly beautiful buildings, so as far as possible, we let the architecture speak for itself. We hung lanterns and fairylights outside so people could enjoy being in the grounds after dark. Inside, we had beautiful flower arrangements combining coral and white blooms with grey/green foliage on the tables. In the church we had candles and flowers on the window sills to soften the stone walls,” explains Rebecca. TIME TO CELEBRATE Friends and family come from as far away as China, Switzerland and Cyprus to celebrate with them. Hengrave Hall provided garden games on the lawn including giant Jenga and Connect 4 to entertain people during the reception drinks. “We put a disposable camera on each of the tables with a list of moments to try and capture which our guests really loved,” adds Rebecca. “Having our photos taken after the wedding breakfast during the golden hour as the sun was setting was really special. It was nice to have that private time while capturing some beautiful images. The evening party was fantastic too. We picked most of the music and chose songs that reminded us of certain memories, people or times during our relationship. Having dance offs to those songs was great fun!”
