Your East Anglian Wedding - Aug/Sep 2019 (Issue 38)

No one wants to be a fraught frazzled bride, so take time out for some well-earned R&R and enjoy the whole wedding journey. The award-winning spa at the Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in Newmarket has everything you need to get big-day ready, all under one roof. The welcoming spa is an oasis of serenity and calm, ideal for pre- wedding pampering with your other half or your best girls. Sit back and relax in the spacious hydrotherapy pool, try out the steam room and sauna or the rooftop hot tub; the perfect place to chill out with a friend or partner. Treat yourself to an indulgent beauty treatment or massage in one of the ten treatment rooms; there’s a couple’s treatment suite too so you can enjoy some quality time together. Visit bedfordlodgehotel.co.uk To help make sure your beauty regime’s on track manager at The Spa Rebecca Randall shares her top tips: 1 The familiar saying ‘fail to plan and plan to fail’ is certainly true when it comes to creating the ultimate pre-wedding beauty routine. I always advise newlyweds-to-be to book ahead and plan treatment times according to their schedule. 2 For plumper, more hydrated youthful-looking skin, our hero advanced LightFusion treatment is ideal and can improve tone and texture after just one session. However, I always recommend a course of six to achieve the best results, so start thinking about this around three months before the big day. 3 Don’t forget the finishing touches such as waxing, eyebrow and lash tinting. Book your wax a couple of days before the wedding to avoid any redness. 4 I often find people are wary when it comes to fake tan but there have been such huge advances in the industry that nowadays you can be sure your tan will look totally natural. I’d always advise having it done professionally and remember to exfoliate the day before your appointment. 5 As the finishing touch to your pre-wedding routine, taking care of your nails can really make a difference to your overall look, not to mention those all-important ring photos. Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure for top-to-toe perfection. Choose a nail colour to match your dress or your bridesmaids; coral has been this year’s hot trend and is a gorgeous shade for weddings. 6 A bold lip makes a great statement and can elevate your beauty look in seconds. To champagne-proof your pout the secret is in the preparation. Start with a lip scrub to remove any dry or flaky patches followed by a moisturising balm before applying your lipstick. You can set the colour with a translucent setting powder. Dabbing directly over the lips will also blot away any excess and set the shade. It’s also a great trick for getting a matte finish – another big beauty trend this year. 7 For a flawless bridal finish to last from day to night you need to be sure your foundation will stay put. Our favourite is by Mii Makeup to energise and revitalise skin and deliver long-lasting results, so you’ll be seriously glowing! SPA-TASTIC! Psst... Rebecca recommends booking a consultation with their Mii Makeup experts in The Spa a week or so before the big day to make sure you’re armed with all the tips and tricks to achieve a flawless finish.
