Set on a hillock, the impressive Grade II* listed building overlooks the terraced gardens and sweeping parkland, providing a one-of-a-kind big-day backdrop. It’s not open to the public so all weddings are completely bespoke. You can get ready in style inside the grand and richly decorated house and tie the knot in the panelled Long Room or outside in the 70ft flower-filled Winter Garden, with up to 120 people. The Italianate Garden, with views of the grounds and lake, is an idyllic spot for a marquee reception for up to 250 guests and the colonnade at the side of the house provides the perfect setting for a string quartet to play. The wonderful bedrooms are all beautifully decorated and the house can accommodate a bridal party of up to 14 loved ones. The views are breathtaking and the four acres of gardens are some of the most famous in the country. People come from all over the world to visit them during the week and at the weekends they’re closed for exclusive weddings. Licensed for ceremonies you can marry in the Coach House, a rustic room, with space for up to 86 loved ones, or have a romantic ceremony in the heart of the gardens with up to 200 guests and do the legal part in the Coach House afterwards. You can host an intimate celebration here too with 65 loved ones for the wedding breakfast or 110 for the evening reception. Alternatively, if you’re planning to invite a crowd, you can have a marquee reception in the grounds, with pretty much limitless numbers.
