Howard wore a black and red velvet tailcoat in a circus ringmaster style, with braces, a matching waistcoat and bow tie and a pair of red dancing shoes. “My sons, Owen and Matthew, wore coordinated attire that worked with our red and cream colour theme, and our adult bridesmaid and flowergirl looked beautiful in their pretty dresses,” Helen says. “We had a dress code for our guests based on the 1920s Gatsby theme, so there were plenty of flapper costumes worn on the day, which added to the great atmosphere!” Guests enjoyed performances from a local choir, organist, pianist and string musicians, including tracks that reflected the couple’s love story. “The evening concluded by the lake with a fire heart and sparkler display after our guests had enjoyed having their own caricature sketched by an artist, accompanied by live music from the era,” Helen says.
