Jojo and Kane met at work. “We clicked instantly and found that spending time together felt very easy,” Jojo tells us. “We quickly realised that we shared the same sense of humour and grew very close.” Kane proposed at one of the couple’s favourite spots on East Hill overlooking Sidmouth in Devon. “It was during a dog walk and although we’d always spoken about getting married, it was a wonderful surprise,” Jojo says. SETTING THE SCENE Kane grew up in Ottery St Mary and remembers Cadhay as a magical place from his childhood so it seemed an obvious choice for the couple’s reception. “I fell in love with the venue when we first visited,” Jojo tells us. “We chose Talaton church to get married in because Kane’s grandma, Dyllis, spent her life living in Talaton so he has many fond memories of spending time in the village. One of the key parts of the day was exchanging our vows in front of those closest to us.” “My dad, Roger, was keen for me to arrive at the church in an old Land Rover like the one I learned to drive in,” Jojo explains. “He and his wife Tania were able to borrow an old 27 REAL WEDDINGS
