Please can you give me some fun ideas for my Xmas-themed wedding make-up and lashes? Hannah May says: Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year and often is for my clients, too. It’s a time when red lipstick, dark smokey eyeliner, and glitter can be indulged at a wedding. I have applied make-up for many brides getting married over the festive period and I use some key products and techniques that promise high glamour with each bride still feeling like herself on her special day. Red liquid lipstick is a staple for a Christmas-themed wedding. Not only does it provide a movie star, Marilyn Monroe-style look but paired with winged eyeliner and a few individual lashes placed on the outer corner of both eyes, it offers statement seasonal style. If you aren’t confident enough to wear a bold red lip colour then make it all about your eyes. Add some warm brown or burgundy tones to the outer corner of both and press some gold glitter on the lid (I love Gatsby Loose Eyeshadow Pigment in peaches & cream, £6.95, www.fabulousmakeup.co.uk). A glittery, glamorous look is great when finished with strip lashes and a smokey bottom lash line created with eyeliner. Simply add a soft pink lipstick topped with gloss and you’ll create that wow-factor for your wedding day. If you want full-on red carpet Hollywood glamour, a look that I adore, team both of these ideas together - perfect for a seasonal Christmas wedding. I am considering having permanent wedding make-up applied, including my brows. Can you give me some ideas and advice? Ashleigh says: In my opinion, permanent make-up is one of the best investments that a woman can make before her big day and the gift that keeps on giving after the wedding! Whether it be your go-to lip gloss or trusty brow pencil, I can ensure that you wake up with them still intact. There’ll be no more having to check if your products are in your handbag each time you head out (or in your bridesmaids’ clutch bag at the wedding), and you won’t have to remember to touch them up throughout the special day. Imagine your eyebrows looked groomed all the time, with no effort, or waking up with eyeliner that doesn’t smudge, defining your eyes permanently. Not only is it a great idea ahead of a wedding, but it will also last, and look great on, your honeymoon. Photograph courtesy of www.gettyimages.co.uk
