FANTASTIC FIREWORKS Meet the expert: Michelle and Mike Glover are the owners of Sonic Fireworks, a professional fireworks display operator throughout the South West. Can you give us some ideas for a firework display at our micro wedding of just 15 guests? Michelle and Mike say: Fireworks can add something extra special to a micro wedding, with a spectacular display that might not have been affordable with the added costs of having a larger celebration. At the right venue, fireworks can provide a short outdoor blast of excitement for guests, providing a fabulous finale to your micro wedding. Sonic Fireworks can also provide sparklers and hand-held fountains of all sizes and colours, including eco-sparklers (non- metal) that are one-metre in length - a real novelty for guests! We recently provided a display for an intimate wedding at the stunning Harefield Barn in Devon. Can you give us some menu ideas for our upcoming micro wedding? Sarah-Jane says: I have created some menu ideas to make a smaller wedding day memorable, especially for couples who have had to downsize their celebration this year. I have created a special silver service-style menu that includes the hire of all staff, a drinks service and the use of stylish crockery and glassware. The dishes include seared smoked salmon with avocado salsa, pea shoots and sweet chilli sauce, fillet steak served on a Portobello mushroom, wild mushroom risotto and pan-fried sea bass. Guests with a sweet tooth will love the trio of desserts including crème brûlée, chocolate cheesecake with a cherry compote and meringue topped with mango and passion fruit. Coffee and mints are also included, and we can add a selection of six canapés for each guest served before the wedding breakfast which is usually a choice of two meat, two fish and two vegetarian ones. At West Country Caterers, we can meet any dietary requirements, and delicious vegetarian and vegan options can be discussed at the time of choosing your dishes. We have considerable experience catering for all types of weddings so if formal dining is not what you require, we can provide a romantic picnic served from luxury hampers for guests to enjoy outdoors, seated on rugs.
