Ceremonies take place at the property for up to 80 guests against the backdrop of sweeping views down to the Camel Estuary and churches at St Enodoc and St Minver are a three-minute drive away, or a 20-minute stroll along the coastal path. The sun terraces allow guests to enjoy this view all day while the manicured lawn is the ideal spot for early-evening cocktails and big-day photographs. PENGERSICK CASTLE, PENZANCE, CORNWALL This enchanting castle is steeped in history and character, with open-beam ceilings, ornately carved granite fireplaces and a fine Tudor stone spiral staircase for those wishing to make a grand entrance. The main entrance features an arched doorway with a built-in drop-slot, and it sits in formal Tudor gardens complete with a Knot and Medieval gardens. Guests can enjoy the four acres of woodland with grassy pathways leading to the original Medieval manor house site that’s now a Scheduled Ancient Monument and everything is located just 600 metres from the sea. With bijoux weddings set to be a popular request since the lockdown restrictions that were imposed, the castle is best suited to intimate affairs of up to 40 guests, and elopement weddings. Every room inside the building is licensed for a ceremony, as is the Bower in the Medieval Garden. The Gun Room situated on the ground floor boasts thick traditional stone walls and candlelit lighting. One of the most important rooms in the castle, it provides an exclusive space for a ceremony seating up to 25 guests and private dining for up to 16 people. The Solar located on the first floor enjoys views across the beautifully manicured Tudor gardens. With plenty of natural light and an open-plan design, this makes the perfect setting for ceremonies of up to 38 loved ones. It can be dressed and styled for any theme and re-configured for a wedding breakfast seating 16 guests, or used for an informal reception of up to 40 loved ones. The Drawing Room on the second floor with its impressive stone fireplace is an excellent location for a small drinks reception while The Medieval Bower tucked away in the Medieval garden is hand- crafted in green oak providing a leafy, sheltered area for an al fresco summer ceremony of just six people while the surrounding garden can accommodate 40 guests.
