We came across Pickleshack at one of the wedding supplier events held at Upton Barn and instantly knew that they would be perfect for our wedding. We loved their unique serving style and the option of having shared platters to create the idea of a feast. The canapés were all unique and appealed to us both – the popcorn chicken was especially popular! For our main meal, they were able to create a menu that featured both of our favourite foods, including brownies and meringues for dessert. My dress was a Cymbeline style that I purchased from Browns of Totnes Bridal Boutique. I knew I wanted a backless, fitted gown and when I tried the dress on, I instantly knew it was the one. I loved the capped sleeves and the bow at the back. Because it was made of lace, I wanted the veil to be fairly simple. I chose a hairpiece featuring pearls that matched my necklace which had once belonged to my grandmother. I wore this around a loose, low bun. The groomsmen and both of our fathers wore a navy three-piece suit with pastel pink ties to match the bridesmaids’ dresses and my bouquet. As I was staying close to the venue, my friend offered to drive me and my dad there in her white convertible VW Beetle. All was going well until it started to rain on the way there! Rich’s uncle kindly drove him and his best man to the venue in his Aston Martin. They were great at getting everyone up and dancing! The bridesmaids wore one-shoulder, Grecian-style floor-length dresses in pastel pink with sandals to match. Our three flowergirls wore white broderie anglaise dresses with gold sandals, flower crowns, and they carried small bouquets of gypsophila. “I remember feeling very nervous walking down the aisle, but as soon as I saw Rich I couldn’t stop smiling. We were both just so happy throughout the day, and it was made all the better being surrounded by our closest friends and family. It’s an unforgettable feeling that you just can’t beat.” – Gabby Rich wore his military uniform and, together with his sword party, they all stood out. 44
