AT THE MANOR Clare and Sam opted for a rustic theme for their spring wedding Images courtesy of Wedding Photography by Joe Bickerton C lare and Sam realised they got on like a house on fire, as they sat around a firepit chatting and sipping cocktails, at a mutual colleague’s party. It wasn’t long before they became a couple and in 2018 Sam proposed. “We were in Newcastle to see Ed Sheeran, and Sam got down on one knee with a beautiful engagement ring in the hotel, just before we were due to set off for the concert,” Clare recounts. It was a huge surprise for the bride-to-be, and Sam had chosen the ring himself from Kayes Jewellers in Chester: “He picked the diamond and had it set in the ring, with the help of the brilliant and knowledgeable staff,” she explains. Inglewood Manor was the first venue the couple looked at after the engagement, after visiting open days at various others, realised it was the perfect fit. Clare explains, “It was the right size to accommodate our numbers, and is local to us in the Wirral. Just driving up the sweeping driveway to the manor, past the lake, is impressive, and the grounds are stunning, with a romantic feel.” The date was set for 26 th May, 2019, and here the bride shares her treasured memories of the big day… Romance REAL WEDDINGS 31 
