Pr e t t y in purple Karen and Thomas planned a joyous affair at Liverpool’s iconic Isla Gladstone Conservatory Images courtesy of Nancy Lisa Barrett Photography K aren Makin and Thomas Clarke already knew of each other through family friends but sparks started to fly when they met on a night out in Liverpool. “We both found each other attractive but we were quite shy!” says Karen. “It was our shared sense of humour that really made us click.” Skip forward seven years and the couple went for a weekend away in Wales where Tom organised a romantic picnic. “He gave me a little heart cushion with a note attached saying ‘Will you marry me?’ – it was a complete surprise,” remembers the bride. After returning home they soon started planning their perfect day for the 19 th August, 2017 at The Isla Gladstone Conservatory.
