Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - February / March 2021 (Issue 81)

SOMETHING BORROWED… If you’re planning how to personalise your venue, you may have noticed the mounting cost of buying decorations. To help, south Somerset wedding venue The Barn at Cott Farm has put together a lending library of styling props, accessories and decor to decorate the venue. “Our couples have the day before to style the barn to suit their theme,” Becca says. “We noticed many couples bringing similar decorations, often spending lots of money to buy items for every table that they’re probably not going to have much use for after the big day. We have curated a collection of rustic, vintage, boho and natural-themed accessories for couples to use free of charge, or they are of course welcome to bring their own.” Find out more about the venue and its new micro-wedding packages at https://cottfarmwedding.co.uk GOOD THINGS IN SMALL PACKAGES With government restrictions on weddings still in place (at time of writing), venues have had to adapt to new rules that ban large parties, discos, dancing and DJs. Bristol’s Leigh Court has developed a number of micro-wedding packages, designed to take the hassle out of planning a small wedding. Working with its award-winning caterer, Berry Blue (http://berry-blue.co.uk), th ere are packages to suit every taste, including COVID-safe options for ceremony-only room hire, receptions and sit-down meals. Couples can add on a host of extras, from post-ceremony canapés and additional courses to drinks packages or a wedding cake to be served as dessert. However, the team used the time to refurbish the manor house during the periods of closure, and it’s also excited to launch its new spa facilities for wedding couples and their parties. From resurfacing the limestone ground floors and solid-oak floorboards throughout the bedrooms, suppliers and employees have been working tirelessly to paint and decorate the manor in warm, neutral tones to create a welcoming atmosphere when guests can return. Outside, the grounds team has redesigned the courtyard and landscaping to add fabulous bursts of colour and even more gorgeous photo opportunities for newlyweds. I love the personal service I can offer, and that’s now extended online.” Lizzie also offers a gorgeous range of products for gifts, personal use and to help you switch to a more ethical beauty and wellbeing regime. This includes brands such as Maggie Anne and Green Flash nailcare, Pink&Green Skincare and Zao makeup.
