REAL WEDDINGS 39  TIME TO CELEBRATE Blessed with glorious weather, the newlyweds’ friends and family made the most of the sunshine with Pimm’s and nibbles while playing garden games. Then it was time for the feast! “Huntstile serves the most yummy organic meals,” Tatum recalls. “We had a hog roast banquet followed by yummy homemade desserts. Once the evening guests arrived, we opened the sweet cart and brought out the cheese ploughman’s – what’s better after a day of drinking than cheese and crackers?” The first dance was to the duo’s favourite song, Barbara Ann by the Beach Boys. “We then had a great local band called The Tritones; they kept everyone entertained with their fun and vibrant covers,” the bride recalls. At 10pm a bonfire was lit, and everyone gathered around to watch and reflect on the day. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Tatum went through a mixed bag of emotions. “It was mainly excitement, as I was about to marry my best friend in front of all the people we love,” she says. “However, there were, of course, nerves too.” Luke tells us that he didn’t feel nervous at all, as he’d never been so sure of anything in his life. “Seeing all our loved ones, especially our parents, enjoying themselves was what it was all about,” Tatum says. “We loved having our dog, Zak, as our ring bearer. The best men’s speeches were another highlight, and my brother even cried, which is incredible because he’s like Terminator!” During the speech, Luke gave his new wife her wedding present: a tortoise. “He bought it so we could all grow old together!” she says. A HELPING HAND They couldn’t have done it without the help of their nearest and dearest, including the bride’s aunt, Simone, who flew all the way from Cape Town as a surprise. “Our photographers, Simon and Kiana Photography, are good friends of ours and made us so relaxed,” Tatum says. “They were truly amazing and captured some beautiful images. We also have to thank our videographer, Liv of Fiveminutesofframe, for providing us with a film to cherish for many years to come.”
