REAL WEDDINGS 43  as I saw it.” She teamed it with classic Tiffany jewellery, simple Rainbow Club shoes and a delicate pearl hairpiece. Richard chose a bespoke dark blue suit from Cad and The Dandy along with a pink tie and pocket square. The groomsmen complemented his outfit brilliantly with Marks and Spencer suits and aubergine accessories to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Karen’s three daughters looked beautiful in Dessy gowns. “They all liked the style, and the colour worked so well with the rest of the wedding,” Karen tells us. TIME TO CELEBRATE The pair decided on live music to entertain their guests. “For our ceremony and reception drinks, we had a singer called Matt Bee,” the bride says. “He was absolutely fantastic; I can’t recommend him enough. Our DJ and announcer was a very likable chap called Tom Norridge – he certainly had a great sense of humour!” In the evening, Bristol-based band 45s got the crowd going with some fantastic live music, as Karen recalls: “Everyone loved all the performers; it was so special having them celebrate with us.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS Both the bride and groom had the most incredible day. “We’ve never smiled so much before in our lives,” Karen says. “Having all our friends and family around us – enjoying themselves and wishing us well – was wonderful!” The groom had the last word after the speeches. “He asked everyone to put their hand on their heart and pledge to eat, drink and have fun,” Karen laughs. The pair knew they couldn’t have done it without the help of their loved ones and some brilliant local suppliers. “There were so many elements that made the wedding great, but everything came together with the hard work of our wedding planner, Caroline of The Planning Lounge,” the bride says. Karen’s motto for the day: “See it, buy it! It might not be there again.”
