Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - April/May 2021 (Issue 88)

38 For my bouquet and our floral arrangements, Wild Sapphire used plenty of foliage mixed with white and pink flower varieties. Our chairs were decorated with foliage which looked so effective. I also created our place names in the same style and loved our hessian cutlery holders and feathers laid on top of the napkins. We had one long table with everyone sat together at dinner. It was topped with a garland made by our talented florist, Wild Sapphire, that ran down the entire length entwined with candles and small white pumpkins. I made our favours which were packets of sunflower seeds printed with ‘let love grow’ and we donated to a hospice on behalf of each guest. We had always wanted a fairly small wedding but when the pandemic struck, our wedding plans were put on hold. We then had to adjust so our guest list reduced from 60 people to 30, and then to just 15 loved ones. Our chosen venue, Huntsmill Farm, was the first one tha t we viewed. It’s close to where we live and had everything that we were looking fo r, plus on-site accommodation for our family and friends travelling from Cumbria. “Getting married during a pandemic helps to put things into perspective. Prioritise what’s important to you and go with the flow because you’ll have a wonderful day no matter what.”
