S tefan and Kelly met through a darts league, Kelly’s family had a team who she was supporting at a match against the team Stefan played for in the same league. “It was Stefan’s cheeky charm that attracted me to him!” recalls Kelly. Stefan’s proposal nearly didn’t come off when his plan of popping the question at the top of Spinnaker Tower, in Portsmouth, was scuppered by Kelly’s fear for heights – which got the best of her and she ended up running to the bottom. “After Stefan had psyched himself up for this, he eventually had to propose at the bottom,” adds Kelly. “It was a surprise, Stefan had always told me he would never do it on a day that had a special meaning, so I never expected it when he proposed on our six- year anniversary!” The happy pair set the date, 26 th July 2019, with Lillibrooke Manor, Maidenhead providing the perfect backdrop. Here, we find out more about their day... SETTING THE SCENE A barn wedding venue was something Kelly had always wanted, “Lillibrooke Manor is absolutely beautiful, even more so in the summer!” shares Kelly. “The staff were so welcoming when we went to view and were extremely helpful.” For the finer details of their day, the table plan was based on their love for Disney movies, “we used a small company we found on Facebook to create our tableplan to match our signs that we had for the doughnut wall, guest book, sweetie stand, and also to match our wedding invites,” shares Kelly. The centrepieces were lanterns with blush pink roses and fairylights made by The Event Styling Company while florist Lucy Pocock created white and blush pink bouquets. The big day bake was a three- tire square design with blush pink roses down one side, incorporating navy blue, diamond shapes across the middle layer in fruit cake, chocolate and vanilla flavours. “The Event Styling Company organised a doughnut wall for us, and a flower arch which we used in both the ceremony and wedding breakfast,” shares Kelly. “We had a wooden ladder with photos of all family members who had passed as unfortunately we lost our grandad and Stefan’s dad prior to the wedding, so we wanted to have something with that extra special touch. My friend has a small company by which she hires a sweetie cart so she organised that for us to have as our wedding gift and Little Bee Designs created both our daytime and evening invitations, using our colour scheme.
