J ared and Sallie met while they were at secondary school, after friendship and romance blossomed Jared’s proposal came as a complete surprise. “We were on a pre-Christmas getaway in Florence, we were over looking the city and it was a beautiful sunny winter’s day,” recalls Sallie. The date was set 13 th April, 2019, and Furtho Manor Farm provided the perfect backdrop. SETTING THE SCENE Although the happy couple visited on a grey, cold January morning, they instantly fell in love with the venue. “We thought if it looks nice on a miserable January day then we knew it wouldn’t let us down. We also loved how accommodating and relaxed they were allowing us to make our wedding unique,” says Sallie. For the finer details, the couple’s favours were Willen Hospice scratchcards, while the centrepieces were created by the venue decorator and each table was named after a city they had visited, the top table was of course Florence. Wanting to please hungry guests, the catering was provided by the fantastic Devine Bettys who made a menu unique to the couple; their big-day bake was by Jared’s creative sister. REAL WEDDINGS 35 
