Your Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wedding - Feb/Mar 2020 (Issue 81)

We had tall floral halos (or space ships as Michael referred to them) with hydrangeas, roses, peonies and gypsophila which had crystals and tea light baubles dangling from them. We received so many comments on how beautiful they were!” Wanting to use sustainable flowers Amy and Michael opted for silk flowers for the bouquets and buttonholes of white hydrangeas, lavender peonies, gypsophila and lavender sprigs with some foliage. “I also had little bouquet charms with photos of our grandparents who are no longer with us so they were with us on our special day.” LOOKING THE PART Amy looked picture-perfect in style 6477 by Stella York, teamed with diamante embellished sandals and a hand- painted leather jacket! Michael wanted to stay traditional when it came to choosing his big-day attire and opted for blue morning suits with tails, an ivory waistcoat and matching ivory cravat and pocket square. The groomsman wore matching suits with lavender frost-coloured cravats and pocket squares, “I would highly recommend Swagger & Swoon who offer a colour matching service if you are struggling to find the right colours,” shares Amy. Finally, Amy’s best girls looked gorgeous in Serene pleated maxi dresses in a grey lavender fog hue. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Amy and Michael’s day was full of love, happiness and laughter. “I remember the feeling when I first saw Michael when I started walking down the aisle. It was the happiest moment of my life knowing he was just about to become my husband,” shares Amy. “When we were stood saying our vows, it was like we were the only people in the room, in our own little bubble for a moment or two.” For guests, the couple hired a white bouncy castle which came with a beautiful wisteria floral garland. “We got it for the kids, but I think the adults had even more fun! Our photographer Nikki captured some great photos of us all on the bouncy castle. “Another surprise is one I arranged for Michael − a huge fan of the film Grease − a 1948 Ford Grease Lightning’ car to bring him and his groomsmen to the venue! It was so hard to keep it a secret for over a year! I had a ‘Bride’ leather jacket which I wore for photos with the car which was hand- painted by the very talented Georgina from GA Illustration.” REAL WEDDINGS 57 
