flowers. The bud vases used for the ceremony were then placed on the dinner tables, and the urns and plinths raised for the ceremony were lowered to table level, holding cascading arrangements of flowers at dinner. We also reused the bridesmaids’ bouquets on the registration table. I’ve worked with plenty of florists, and I knew I only wanted Joanna Carter to be in charge of our wedding flowers.” Guests enjoyed a garden drinks reception with a live acoustic set, and canapés that included red pepper tapenade bruschetta, beef meatballs with tomato and parmesan, truffle and parmesan arancini and roast prawns with puttanesca salsa. “Aperol Spritz cocktails, prosecco, beer and sparkling elderflower were served,” Hannah tells us. “Our wedding breakfast was delicious – we still get guests commenting even now on how excellent it was. The starter was Serrano ham with grilled stone fruit, burrata, herbs, gremolata and pine nuts. The main course was a choice of beef, pork and veal lasagne or spinach and ricotta cannelloni. This was served with rocket parmesan, radish and lemon salad or marinated heritage tomato salad with basil pesto, triple-cooked chips and chilli and garlic tenderstem broccoli. Dessert was the traditional Italian Millefoglie with berries and fruit, which we deconstructed in front of our guests - I have no idea how my dress survived Tom squirting raspberry coulis at me!” The couple chose the Italian Zensa Primitivo and German Anheuser Blanc de Noir wine varieties. “We also enjoyed Baby Guinness shots after our speeches as a nod to Tom’s late father, who passed away the week before our wedding,” Hannah tells us. There was a black-tie dress code for the gentlemen, and a De Rigueur Milliner theme for the ladies. Hannah wore a dress from MWL Bride purchased from The White Collection. “I had always known I wanted to wear a MWL wedding dress as I adore the designs and style more than any other designer,” she tells us. “In the end, I chose a beautiful custom-made version of the Remi-Louie style teamed with a stunning cathedral-length veil and a pair of slingback bridal shoes.” Tom wore a smart tuxedo and an Omega Seamaster watch, and his groomsmen wore matching tuxedos. “Our bridesmaids looked great in their champagne-coloured satin dresses, and the flowergirls and pageboy outfits were handmade by my MWL,” Hannah says. The evening entertainment was the live band COOL performing, along with garden games for everyone to enjoy. Top tip:“Discuss your vision with your chosen suppliers and make everything you want clear from the start. Consider choosing a bespoke menu, and give your photographer a list of images you want.” - Hannah and Tom REAL WEDDINGS 27
