Sarah and Josh met online via the dating app Hinge and spoke for a few months before meeting at the pub for their first date. Josh then proposed during a trip in June 2024. “He asked me to marry him while we were on a hike at the Great Wall of China,” Sarah tells us. The couple chose Ufton Weddings as their wedding venue. “We loved everything about it,” Sarah says. “The barn and gardens looked beautiful, and the manor house was magnificent. We liked the fact that all of the money raised from the weddings held there is invested in the children’s educational charity aspect of the venue.” The couple chose a pale pink theme with soft green touches. “This was reflected in the flowers, centrepieces, bridesmaids’ dresses and bridesmen’s suits which were a soft shade of pastel pink,” Sarah says. “The groomsmen wore pastel pink ties and pocket handkerchiefs in keeping with our theme, as well as matching made-to-measure suits which looked great. I wore a lace dress that fitted beautifully, accentuating my figure.” Guests tucked into a fantastic selection of canapés during the drinks reception, followed by a wedding breakfast of smoked haddock tart, duck confit, and Biscoff cheesecake. During the evening, pizza was served. “We had a drinks reception where the singer Alexandra Rose performed,” Sarah says. “She was amazing and helped create a wonderful atmosphere. During our first dance, our friend Andy Skitt performed our song choice outside on the patio just as the sun was setting. He was then joined 32
