Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - August/September 2025 (Issue 114)

Setting the scene came naturally to Ella, opting for a black-tie event with hints of green to soften the edges – perfectly marrying the aesthetic of the venue with the elegant theme. Ella adds, “the natural beauty of the venue made the job of decorating very easy. There was already a large number of flowers among the grounds, which translated into the use of similar colours in the barn.” To decorate the tables, they used tall candles and charger plates with gold details; these were paired with some very adorable table numbers which included images of their dogs, Tiger and Rory, wearing numbered collars which were then placed in gold frames. The welcome sign and table sign were two large mirrors – making for a stylistic shot of what was to come. Ella wore a stunning white strapless A-line dress, and Ryan wore a classic black tuxedo. The wedding party looked equally as chic and featured the bridesmaids in strapless black dresses (the perfect contrast to the bride) and groomsmen in matching black tuxedos – talk about a well-dressed group of people! The all-important cake was an on-trend, single tier, Lambeth-style design in the shape of a heart, which was accompanied by an impressive menu: for starter a selection of fishcakes, chicken and bacon salad, or soup, followed by either a roast chicken dinner, salmon or risotto. All of this was finished with either a brownie, profiteroles, or sticky toffee pudding – a delicious spread loved by the guests! Pearls of wisdom are not something we should take for granted, and every bride will have something that sticks out to them as important when planning a wedding, for Ella it was, “don’t overthink and stress about every detail. Trust that your suppliers have it all in hand and know what they are doing.” 44
