Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - August/September 2025 (Issue 114)

Harriet and Joe met at work and quickly fell in love. “We became engaged on the 18th of April 2024 at Easthampstead Park, where Joe had booked us a break away following a busy time renovating our home,” Harriet explains. “Little did we know that this would be our wedding venue the following year. We had decided to take a stroll around the grounds, where Joe found a quiet spot under a beautiful oak tree to ask me to marry him. It was perfect – and moments before, a small deer had appeared and leapt across our path towards the woodland, creating a special moment.” The couple enjoyed a meal at The Waterside Inn in Bray to celebrate, and Joe arranged for a bouquet to greet them on arrival. “We experienced a delicious tasting menu and were personally congratulated by chef patron Alain Roux on our engagement,” Harriet says. SETTING THE SCENE Harriet and Joe decided to get married at Easthampstead Park, where they got engaged. “The venue is a stunning converted Grade II listed Victorian mansion with a wide selection of picturesque areas to get married and plenty of rooms for our guests travelling from Kent, Essex, and even Australia,” they tell us. “All aspects of the hotel were right for us, from the long driveway approaching the mansion to the grand staircase and stained-glass windows. The grounds are stunning, boasting manicured lawns, seasonal flowers and plants. We wanted our wedding to complement the venue with its natural beauty, so we opted for a classic theme styled with a neutral colour palette and delicate textures enhanced with natural floral displays.” The couple worked with incredible suppliers who brought their vision to life. “Our florist, Sarah Hanson at Olivia Brooke Floral Design, has vast amounts of experience both as a florist and working as a preferred supplier at Easthampstead Park,” Harriet says. “We trusted her expertise and left her to be creative. The floral displays complemented the bespoke bouquets and buttonholes perfectly. Our guests were blown away by the beautiful designs, which left an incredible scent throughout the venue.” ON THE MENU Harriet and Joe were invited to enjoy a food and drink tasting at the venue before selecting their final menu choices. “We spoke to the chef, who tailored our menu to cater for those with allergies, intolerances, and preferences on an individual basis,” they explain. “The venue offers an online event planner that makes this process quick, easy, and efficient. We decided on a classic three-course wedding breakfast along with canapés served during the drinks reception.” The couple’s wedding cake was a five-tier, fully iced design 27 REAL WEDDINGS
