An Essex Wedding - Page number 47 - May/June 2021 (Issue 98)

Jon and the groomsmen bought navy suits at the last minute from Moss Bros and teamed them with a rust orange tie. Unfortunately the bridesmaids couldn’t attend because of restrictions (although they joined us via Zoom), so my brother took on the man-of-honour role. I wore Ottilie by Sassi Holford. It took me a ges to find a dress as I wanted something suitable for winter, without being too heavy. I chose this dress because of the distinctive wintry floral patte rn and the sophisticated backless design. The bridal shop had to dri ve my dress down the A12 to be collected in a Sainsbury’s car park – best se rvice ever! We treated our guests to mini marshmallow toasting kits as favours. They’re my favourite, and we thought it went well with our autumnal fire pits and fireworks! We went for delicious comfort food: a charcuterie to start, followed by lamb for main and a bread and butter pudding to finish. REAL WEDDING 47
