An Essex Wedding - September/Ocotber 2020 (Issue 94)

A pianist from Piano DJ set the scene during the day. Sonny loved picking out unusual music like the Jurassic Park and Super Mario theme tunes. He also likes rock music, which sounded so much more suitable for a wedding on piano! We then had a DJ and bongo player for the evening; the dancefloor was full all night and the bongo player made us feel like we’d flown to Ibiza! We bought a silver mirror and ordered a vinyl table plan to display on it. Our tables were named after the 11 years we had been together and we placed a photo of us from that year on each table – our guests loved seeing how we’d changed. After the ceremony we had mocktails and lovely canapés before feasting on a delicious three-course meal. For the evening, we had a pizza oven where guests could choose their own toppings followed by a popcorn machine. I found my Essence of Australia dress in Bodice & Bustle, and I’d recommend this shop to anyone! I thought I knew the style I wanted, but after trying it on I realised it was too heavy. It was the boutique owner who suggested the dress I ended up going for. I loved the detail and the train was amazing. I teamed it with a long veil and a small hairclip. I had three pairs of shoes: a rose gold pair for photos, a practical ivory pair and some Kate Spade sneakers for dancing! I’ve always loved Sonny in blue as it matches his eyes, so all the men wore blue slim-fit suits from TM Lewin. The groom stood out in a grey waistcoat while the others wore blue. My maid-of-honour, Millie, wanted something flowing with a bit of ruching. We found a beautiful dark pink number with a criss-cross neck, which complemented my gown perfectly. REAL WEDDINGS 47 
