An Essex Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 93)

MEET KAL OSAHAN OF QUINT LONDON WEDDING STATIONERY Tell us about your company… We’re a luxury wedding stationery company providing everything from save-the-dates to on-the-day pieces, and our bespoke designs are the pinnacle of luxury and intricate style. From classic elegance to regal and dramatic, we will design to your needs to set your day apart. What’s your favourite product you offer? It has to be our most luxurious couture range, with raw silks and embellishments, they make beautiful keepsakes. One of the most popular has to be the Wendy collection; it can be designed to your theme, colour palette and florals, even down to the shade of ribbon. Why should couples choose Essex suppliers for their wedding? It has so many advantages, especially as they will already have a knowledge of your venue and may even be a recommended supplier there. Arranging meetings is another plus; I usually meet my couples in the evenings due to their work commitments, and being local they won’t have far to travel. Another important factor is building a rapport and trust with your suppliers, that’s when you know you’ve made the right choice. If you could design a product for a celebrity, who would it be? It would have to be a couple like Vicky Pattison and Ercan Ramadan. They’re adorable together with a down-to-earth, understated elegance about them. Nearlyweds can select their veil (or capes, which are very popular right now) from my existing collection, and as I make each piece to order, it can be tweaked or made from scratch for a truly bespoke service. I have a spacious studio in Colchester where customers can come for a consultation with their dress and we can chat through ideas and select the perfect product. What’s your favourite product you offer? It changes from season to season, but at the moment I love creating personalised veils, particularly adding an embroidered message. This can be anything from a line of poetry or song lyrics to a couple’s initials and wedding date. The veil then has its own meaning and becomes an heirloom to be passed down to future generations. Why should couples choose Essex suppliers for their wedding? All across the country you’ll find communities of wedding suppliers who collaborate regularly, and Essex is no exception. When we’ve worked together before, it means we can confidently recommend each other to our couples. Buying a veil from a local company like mine means you can visit the studio and try your whole outfit on together. You’ll also be supporting an independent business and the local economy. If you could design a product for a celebrity, who would it be? I’ve had celebrity brides and non-celebrity brides, and to me they’re all equally special. I’d happily design a cape for Miley Cyrus; her sense of style would challenge my creativity. She’s also an animal rights activist and makes great music, which ticks a lot of boxes for me!
