An Essex Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 93)

Archie collects rocks and bark, so we paid homage to this with our place settings. We bought white pebbles and hand-stencilled each guests’ name on it. We also designed our invitations and used the same look for our table plan, which was mounted on an old cart wheel. Our rustic vibe ran throughout everything, from the log slices on the tables to the pretty jugs filled with flowers and foliage. Before everyone sat down for the meal, Archie and I went to see everything set up; I’ll never forget the relief and excitement of seeing our ideas come to life. As soon as we booked Mulberry House, we settled on a rustic theme to link everything together. We chose a green and pink palette to help us coordinate all the elements. We gave each guest a heart-shaped candle as a favour. We also gave everyone bubbles to add to the sense of fun. Our guests also loved the sweet wheel and the flip flops we provided for the evening! My lace princess gown was the second dress I tried on; straight away I knew it was the one . I tried other styles to make sure, but this one just fitted me and suited my shape perfectly. I teamed it with a pretty belt, which my friend offered as my something borrowed. 36
