FALL Layer Marney Tower was a dreamy backdrop for Emily and Phil’s autumnal celebration Images courtesy of Ayshea Goldberg Photography in love E mily and Phil were brave enough to try a blind date – and luckily for them it was the start of a whole new chapter in their lives. “We met for a coffee in Colchester Castle Park,” Emily tells us. “It wasn’t long enough for either of us so we went to the pub and then out for pizza!” Phil says the spark moment came when he went to buy a round of drinks then turned back to find Emily checking out some old photos of Colchester in the 1900s – much to her embarrassment! When it came to popping the question, Phil had a romantic trick up his sleeve. “We went for brunch in Greenwich Park and he tempted me up a hill with the promise of pancakes at the top,” Emily remembers. There were no pancakes, but there was Phil on one knee. He told her, “I’ve brought you to the centre of time and space because you’re the centre of my world, and time stops when I’m with you.” How could she say no?
