REAL WEDDINGS 39 look amazing in years to come.” She accessorised her luscious locks with a gorgeous tiara and traditional full-length veil with lace trim. She was lucky enough to have beautiful jewellery gifted to her on the morning to complete the look. The men looked dashing in navy suits with tweed waistcoats. The groom sported burgundy accessories, while the groomsmen coordinated perfectly with the bridesmaids in blush pink. “My best girls’ dresses looked similar but were slightly different,” Amy says. “I won one of them in a competition at Fairytale Bride in Coggeshall! I loved the sequinned vintage-style tops.” The flowergirl was super-cute in a blush pink number. TIME TO CELEBRATE Everyone got in the party spirit with a jazz duo welcoming them to Layer Marney Tower. Amy explains, “My mum used to play Kenny G when we were kids so the sound of the saxophone brings back good memories. I’m a singer so had to get some live music into the day!” The fabulous atmosphere continued into the evening with a floor-filling DJ. MEMORABLE MOMENTS The day was brimming with amazing moments and the newlyweds have some wonderful memories. “Our vicar’s sermon was really funny and personal,” says Amy. “It was so special when she pronounced us as husband and wife. It felt like we’d been waiting for that moment for so long.” The father-of-the-bride speech was a real talking point as was the emotional first dance. “Gordon is a real joker but can be shy in serious situations,” the bride tells us. “To have that special moment with him meant so much.” Another highlight was seeing how the day brought people together. “Our friends became friends!” Amy laughs. “People came from Scotland and even Australia to share it with us.” A HELPING HAND Amy and Gordon chose some fantastic suppliers who helped make the day go without a hitch. “I was a very nervous bride,” Amy confesses. “I didn’t get much sleep the night before, so when we were getting ready my hair and make-up artists took the time to calm me down and reassure me. As well as making us look fabulous, I don’t think I would’ve been as calm without them!” Charlotte from Bouquet Garni and Karen from Layer Marney Tower get special mentions for being so brilliant throughout the planning. “They kept me chilled and nothing was too much trouble,” Amy tells us. The bride formed a close bond with the lovely ladies at Amara Bridal. “I went on an emotional journey with them,” she says. “They went above and beyond to give me the experience I’d always dreamed of. They gave me a Katie Loxton bag and candle as a gift, and even joined us for the evening do.” Amy’s top tip: “Enjoy every moment of the planning – even the stressful times – you’ll laugh about it later!” 
