An Essex Wedding - Mar/Apr 2017 (Issue 79)

We’ll meet again T he inspiration for this shoot is the true story of a sunken aircraft wreckage on the beaches of Dunkirk, which has been brought back to its former glory some 77-years later. “This is one of a very few surviving World War II Hurricanes that has recently undergone nine years of meticulous restoration,” says Beverley Pile of PS With Love. “We chose Elmsted Airfield as our setting as it formed a stunning backdrop for the pictures and was also a true treasure trove – we found vintage vehicles, rusted ammunition, patina-coated metal, all providing a variety of beautiful tones and contrasting textures. We adorned these with traditional blooms by Country Garden Flower Company, whose flowers and foliage are all grown in the company’s own garden and then arranged into innovative forms to give a modern feel. “Our photographer Chanon de Valois is particularly well-known for her skills in capturing intricate detail so she was an obvious choice for us when it came to capturing the individual elements of the day,” adds Beverley. “Each member of the group is passionate about traditional techniques and attention to detail, plus boast a love of this particular era. The team’s aim was to stay true to the 1940s while adding contemporary touches by using stylish jumpsuits alongside traditional dresses, adding intricate beaded headpieces with both birdcage and flowing veils to suit both up dos and loose long locks.” ♥ We showcase this gorgeous shoot, complete with a WWII Hurricane 64
