Fun loving Katie and Peter’s romance began with laughter, and it seems they haven’t stopped since. Katie tells us, “I was working one morning a week at a local shop where he stopped by for a bit of shopping. Each time, he’d ‘accidentally’ forget something, giving himself an excuse to come back. He managed to win me over one day when he started dancing to one of the songs playing in the shop, in the middle of the chocolate aisle, finishing with a twirl. I couldn’t help but laugh and think, okay, you can dance!” Love blossomed and Pete proposed on Christmas Day in front of family. Katie adds, “It was a moment that I never thought I’d experience. We didn’t want to wait so we started planning right away. When you know, you know!” The pair became Mr and Mrs Fry on 7th June, 2025. SETTING THE SCENE Katie felt like Downham Hall was her home away from home. She tells us, “The staff were kind and understanding, creating such a relaxed atmosphere. We loved that some of our family could stay on-site, we booked all five rooms, which made it feel even more personal.” The Fry’s certainly made a statement with their colour palette! Katie tells us, “I knew I wanted hot pink from the get-go. I look like a pink kind of girl that also loves bling and diamonds, so that’s what we ran with and added a touch of red to complement.” Wedding planner, Natalie Solanke Weddings recommended the pair visit Downham Hall. It was at one of their wedding open days that they met TJ Designer Weddings and instantly fell in love with her designs. Katie adds, “Natalie and TJ took the time to understand my personality and style, and I trusted them completely to bring our vision to life. TJ provided full floral designs, the disco balls, pink accented with hints of red and black in tablecloths, charger plates, and all 42
