Duo of new brands launch AT BRAINTREE VILLAGE Braintree Village has announced the arrival of two new brands; family-friendly value retailer, The Works, and luxury menswear brand, Malford of London. The new The Works store is now open and is located opposite Julian Charles. WITH ME Fly away Rhea & Joshua Doyle tied the knot at Apton Hall on 4th July, 2025 Images courtesy of Photography by Ashley Joshua and Rhea crossed paths online when they matched on Tinder back in October 2019. It was love at first swipe! Joshua was pleasantly surprised when Rhea made the first move and it was her confidence that won him over. Over the years, the pair have enjoyed travelling the world together, enjoying rooftop dinners under the stars in Vienna, a sparkling engagement in Lisbon, and jet-setting to Jamaica for a honeymoon of a lifetime. When planning the wedding, the theme of travel was a no-brainer. Quirky suitcase favours, boarding passes as table names and a ‘where in the world’ table plan, styled the day. SETTING THE SCENE Both Joshua and Rhea fell in love with Apton Hall, and it matched their sage green colour scheme perfectly, to Rhea’s delight! Rhea wore a stunning, satin off-the-shoulder ballgown, purchased from Bellissima Weddings. Her bride tribe were by her side on the day she said yes, and it was safe to say there were tears all round. The design, Essence of Australia was another nod to travel! It was certainly meant to be. The groom and his fellow groomsmen looked dapper in cream three-piece suits, whilst the bridesmaids wore mix and match gowns in sage. TIME TO CELEBRATE Rhea and Joshua both admit they love to host family and friends in their Chelmsford home they share with their cat, Missy, so the wedding really was their time to shine. There was a magician, garden games, a vintage VW ice cream van, vocalist, saxophonist and not forgetting the crisp wall! MEMORABLE MOMENTS Rhea sadly lost her brother Aaron suddenly on 27th March, just over three months before the wedding. He was supposed to be there by her side on the day, he was however there in spirit and was honoured throughout the day with special touches. Happy family memories were made throughout the day – and night – as Rhea and her dad took to the dancefloor. What started as a slow dance soon broke into a hip hop dance to Hammer Time! Unforgettable. RHEA’S TOP TIP! When it comes to words of wisdom, Rhea says it short and simply, “Don’t stress the little things.” We wish the happy couple all the best in their future together. Shoot organiser and hair and makeup artist, Anna Vine, said, “I wanted to focus this shoot on vintage fashion and styling for a wedding to highlight how you can have a unique and classic day whilst being as sustainable as possible. Rather than purchasing a brand-new piece worn only once, more couples are choosing to thrift or seek vintage fashion, combining sustainability with personal expression. Fun loving Katie and Peter’s romance began with laughter, and it seems they haven’t stopped since. Katie tells us, “I was working one morning a week at a local shop where he stopped by for a bit of shopping. Each time, he’d ‘accidentally’ forget something, giving himself an excuse to come back. He managed to win me over one day when he started dancing to one of the songs playing in the shop, in the middle of the chocolate aisle, finishing with a twirl. I couldn’t help but laugh and think, okay, you can dance!” Love blossomed and Pete proposed on Christmas Day in front of family. Katie adds, “It was a moment that I never thought I’d experience. We didn’t want to wait so we started planning right away. When you know, you know!” The pair became Mr and Mrs Fry on 7th June, 2025. SETTING THE SCENE Katie felt like Downham Hall was her home away from home. She tells us, “The staff were kind and understanding, creating such a relaxed atmosphere. We loved that some of our family could stay on-site, we booked all five rooms, which made it feel even more personal.” The Fry’s certainly made a statement with their colour palette! Katie tells us, “I knew I wanted hot pink from the get-go. I look like a pink kind of girl that also loves bling and diamonds, so that’s what we ran with and added a touch of red to complement.” Wedding planner, Natalie Solanke Weddings recommended the pair visit Downham Hall. It was at one of their wedding open days that they met TJ Designer Weddings and instantly fell in love with her designs. Katie adds, “Natalie and TJ took the time to understand my personality and style, and I trusted them completely to bring our vision to life. TJ provided full floral designs, the disco balls, pink accented with hints of red and black in tablecloths, charger plates, and all 42

the finishing touches. When I first walked into the marquee, I was absolutely flabbergasted—it was a real ‘wow’ moment.” DRESSED TO IMPRESS Katie wore, Millie May Bridal from Beautiful Brides. Katie’s grandmother was a seamstress, so it was all about the quality and feel of the dress. So impressed with the gown, Katie knew it was the one the moment she stepped out of the fitting room. Getting married at 5pm enabled Katie to really relax during the day in the safe hands of her MUA Leanne and hairdresser Perri, making her look and feel like a true bride. TIME TO CELEBRATE A twilight wedding meant the ceremony flowed perfectly into party mode, starting with a bridal party dance off! Here the groomsmen, eight bridesmaids, Katie’s son and the all-important bride and groom ended up on the dance floor even before the meal! Glow sticks, disco balls, saxophonist and Essence DJ on the decks kept the dancefloor packed all night. MEMORABLE MOMENTS “I’ll never forget seeing my 88-year-old dads face when he first saw me in my dress and getting to walk down the aisle with him.” REAL WEDDINGS 43
