Opened in 1888 by the Midland Railway, the beautifully restored station is rich in Victorian character and historical charm, creating an elegant backdrop for your special day. For an unforgettable arrival, the bridal party can travel to the station by magnificent steam train, creating ample opportunity for stunning wedding photography. An intimate ceremony can be held in the Booking Hall (50 guests). The room has a romantic atmosphere created by its light-filled interior, vintage character and understated décor. The Tea Room (70 ceremony and reception guests) has a bright, airy feel, thanks to the large sash windows and high, vaulted ceiling, while the shelves lined with antique railway lanterns and memorabilia, give it a distinctive heritage atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed family wedding. Platform 1 (70 ceremony guests) and 2 (80 ceremony guests) allow you to step back in time to an era of elegance and charm. Imagine your guests gathered on the sun-drenched platform as the whistle of a steam locomotive echoes through the valley. For larger ceremonies and celebrations, the marquee, strategically positioned next to Platform 1, can host up to 200 guests and can be decorated to suit your style and budget. Alternatively, host your wedding reception in true style on one of the trains (up to 64 per carriage). Step aboard the Mark I carriages and travel back to the golden age of rail travel. Enjoy a ride through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales as you dine. With onboard bars and a dedicated team of Dales Dining staff, you’re promised a sentimental journey you’ll never forget.
