This is when her mum taught her to sew – “Those moments became some of my most treasured memories,” she tells us. At 15, Jayne became a tailoress, determined to learn every part of the job and by 23, she began working from home, making designer children’s wear until the shop closed. Later, an opportunity came along to make dog collars and leads for a small business, and buying her first industrial sewing machine felt like a dream come true. While she loved it there, when the company began struggling, she decided to take the leap. “People were constantly saying I should start up on my own, but I didn’t seem to have confidence,” she explains. After nearly a year of planning, Yorkshire Wedding Tails was born – combining her love of sewing with beautiful pet wedding accessories. “I hope I’ve made my mum proud, I couldn’t have done it without her,” Jayne shares.
