Your Yorkshire Wedding - January/February 2023 (Issue 58)

Joshua and Charlotte met in the crazy world of social media. Fastforward to 2020, two months pregnant with their baby girl, Myla, Joshua popped the question. An easy reply, Charlotte said, yes! It was love at first sight with their chosen venue, Carlton Towers. Driving past for the first time, they stopped the car and called the venue to schedule a viewing. Charlotte remembers, “On the day of our visit, we got up early, went for breakfast, then set off for our appointment. The view on the trail to the house was breathtaking. We walked up the stone stairs and through the massive entrance doors that opened into the most spectacular place we’ve ever set foot in. We call it fate the day we accidentally drove past Carlton Towers. This was the most perfect venue that we could wish to say ‘I do’ in.” On 16th April 2022, the pair tied the knot in their fairytale wedding. Here, the happy couple tell us more about their day... SETTING THE SCENE Setting the tone of the day, both the bride and groom certainly arrived in style. As Charlotte explains, “Josh arrived in a helicopter, and I trotted down the driveway with our girls and my dad in an ivory open-roofed carriage accompanied by two spectacularly dressed, immaculate white horses. These entrances were a lovely surprise for our guests who were all relaxing on the lawns outside when Josh arrived.” Sophia from Sophia’s Final Touch really helped to make all the details a perfect match of elegant and rustic. The chairs were all dressed with classic white chiffon drapes with a sprig of eucalyptus placed in the back of each chair. The aisle was lined with floating candles and chapel candles and thousands of fresh white rose petals along a huge white carpet. Charlotte adds, “To frame us both we had two 10ft canopy blossom trees to make it picture perfect! For the evening, we added giant rustic light up Love letters and had a projector which projected our names onto the dancefloor.” As the couple weren’t fans of cake, they decided to go with a seven-tier pork pie and cheese cake by the West Country Cheese Company. This was delivered the day before the wedding and kept fresh by Carlton Towers. 35 REAL WEDDINGS
