Your Yorkshire Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 56)

My dad’s first look – it was quite an emotional moment; one I don’t think I’ll ever forget. Rich and my dad’s speeches were also tear jerkers! We had ‘save the bees’ seed packets as wedding favours, and wooden place names, table names and other information boards. My dress was from Hoops-a-Daisy in Huddersfield. I knew I wanted something with a low back but went in with an open mind to try on all styles. When we had a few tears from my mum and my little boy said I looked pretty, we knew it was the one. Middleton Lodge was beautiful – the country ga rden wedding I’d always wanted. As we drove away, Rich’s response was ,“I guess we’re getting married there.” A few days later, it was booked! Accessories were kept simple with a floor length veil and an old locket that belonged to my nannan and given to my sister - my something old, something borrowed. I also wore a little blue bow underneath my hair from my little girl. We wanted natural, rustic, country-style décor. We tried to use ecofriendly products wherever we could. 28
