Your West Midlands Wedding - December 2022/January 2023 (Issue 83)

72 SEARCHING FOR THE ONE Next year will bring some amazing trends to the world of wedding dresses. Some of these we’ve already seen hints of, such as capes and feathering, but others will be more dramatic such as one-shouldered gowns and more silvers and blues – you might even say that blue could be the new ivory! The Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Collection has flown out in customisable colour options, with blue being the favourite so far. If Disney is your thing, then definitely keep an eye out, as these gowns are set to be stunning! Boho is still storming the scene, and with the cowgirl theme getting stronger, we expect to see more jackets and fringe detailing. Our boho pick is always the Wilderly Bride Collection, as this epitomise all things boho, and next year’s collection doesn’t disappoint. Asymmetric necklines and false tops or jackets are also going to big, allowing brides to find that elusive style that everyone seems to want at the moment. Customisation is also going to be huge for the same reason, so make sure you have a seamstress booked in, as they will be getting booked up already. It’s a skill that not everyone has, so make sure you do your research and don’t just go for the cheapest option! There is a huge difference between someone that turns up curtains and someone that can customise and alter a wedding gown. My top pick for next year would be silver. This year we saw a lot of gold and corset gowns, but I think it’s time for silver to shine.
