Your West Midlands Wedding - December 2022/January 2023 (Issue 83)

DRESSED TO IMPRESS “I wore a classic Romantica of Devon ballgown with a beautiful lace panel on the back,” remembers Shannon. “I bought it from the Wedding Quarter in Malvern, and my auntie altered it for me slightly, softening the neckline and sewing on a sparkly belt to add a bit of bling. I accessorised with an elegant pair of earrings, a matching necklace and bracelet and a large sparkly comb from Lace & Favour. During the day, I wore Rainbow Club shoes, before changing into slingbacks in the evening.” Tris opted for a check three-piece suit with a tan waistcoat, gold tie and brown leather shoes. The groomsmen had navy black check waistcoats instead with rose gold ties. “I chose my three best friends and beautiful sisters to be my bridesmaids,” says the bride. “They chose stunning rose gold maxi dresses with sequin bodices and open backs, which we purchased from Next. I gifted them rose gold drop earrings which perfectly complemented the gowns.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “In keeping with the Spanish theme, we had a classical Spanish guitarist play at our ceremony and during the drinks reception,” shares Shannon. “For our evening band, we chose indie-pop band Chelsea Daggers from Entertainment Nation Ltd, who were absolutely fantastic. We also kept guests entertained with garden games that my dad made, and finished off the celebrations with a sparkler archway.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “It was the happiest and most joyous day of our lives,” recalls the bride. “Neither of us could believe how quickly it went, and it was difficult to take it all in. My favourite parts were the ceremony and speeches. The service was romantic, especially since we wrote our own vows, which were so emotional. “Our wedding day was made special by the incredible people we chose to share it with,” continues Shannon. “It was filled with so much love, all thanks to our amazing families and friends, including the wonderful Amy from Humblebee Photography and October of October Hair. Both ladies went above and beyond. In the morning, they felt like part of the bridal party and were such fun. Amy, of course, stayed with us for the rest of the day, capturing everything perfectly and mingling with our guests as if she’d always been a member of the family. She understood us so well as a couple, and we honestly couldn’t have chosen a better photographer. We have many of the photos framed around the house reminding us of the most perfect day of our lives!” HONEYMOON “We spent four nights in a beautiful shepherd’s hut just outside of Monmouth with our labrador, Thor,” reveals Shannon. “It was on the edge of a bluebell wood with a hot tub and log burner. It was exquisite! We walked, read books and played board games, and of course caught up on sleep! Months of wedding planning had really taken it out of us!” 37 REAL WEDDINGS
