Your West Midlands Wedding - August/September (Issue 81)

It’s official, I’m a married woman – eeek! After being engaged for nearly 18 months, and with all of the lockdowns and uncertainty, it’s been quite a rollercoaster of emotions, but I couldn’t have asked for a better day. It seems like just yesterday that I was telling our loved ones that we were engaged, and here we are as husband and wife (I don’t think I’ll ever get used to saying that). My number one piece of advice is to enjoy the process and make it about what you want. We found that many of our nearest and dearest were quite vocal about what they wanted and how the day should be, which can feel quite overwhelming at times but try to remember it’s meant to be about you and your partner. Pick things that you want, and that will make you both happy and forget about everyone else. The day goes by in a flash so take some time out just the two of you to have a chat and take everything in. Things will go wrong, but that’s okay. On the day, you won’t notice the little things, and all that will matter will be celebrating with your friends and family. Surround yourself with people that you love and trust. My bridesmaids were wonderful at keeping my nerves in check and making sure I felt like a special bride. I couldn’t have asked for better, and I can’t wait to look back on our photographs with them. This issue is full of inspiration, we have a feature focusing on the latest flower trends, a jewellery and accessories feature, and we showcase gorgeous fairytale venues. If that’s not enough, we also look at showstopping dresses and wow-factor honeymoon destinations.
