Your West Midlands Wedding - August/September (Issue 81)

George and I chose a three-tier blue cake from F & H Country Cakes. The exterior was fairly simple and the flavours were ch ocolate, blueberry and lemon. We topped the cake with little Lego figurines of us . as George loves Lego, and we have visited Lego HQ in Billund. The centrepieces were elaborate candelabra with ivy creeping over them as we love the idea of nature taking over. It all felt quite Gothic and a little bit like the castle from Beauty and the Beast. For our favours, we gave our guests seeds, which we purchased from Elle Bee Design. We wanted something that was environmentally sustainable which people would use. We also included some keys that were bottle openers as we liked the idea of unlocking/opening the next stage of our lives. Our table plan was also from Elle Bee Design. We chose table names based on places we have been to and loved, such as Hawaii and Milovice. Eastnor Castle is simply magical, the grounds and interior of the castle are breathtaking, and they offer attractive pricing bearing in mind how grand it is. We wanted somewhere that felt like a fairytale and a few of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to, which we were thrilled with. The castle has some beautiful urns at the bottom o f the main set of stairs, which we filled with white roses and blue hydrangeas fro m Floral Roundabout. We wanted something simple and elegant, and the hyd rangeas were a nod to George’s mum, who passed away in his 20s. We had a flo ral centrepiece at the ceremony, which we also used on the main table during dinn er. 38
