Your West Midlands Wedding- December 2021/January 2022 (Issue 77)

After the first dance, everyone jumped on the dance floor and seeing our friends and family having a good time was definitely a highlig ht for us. We weren’t sure what to do for our honeymoon. We were so drained from the weekend, and with our little girl back in school that week, we felt awful leaving her. We went to Shrewsbury and stayed in the Pri nce Rupert Hotel. When we got there, they had upgraded us to a lovely suite an d arranged a bottle of prosecco. It was nice to just have a few days away relaxing. We will hopefully be booking a big family holiday for the summer. My sister did a speech for me as my dad is no longer here. She really put everything into it and had everyone crying. It was thoughtful, funny and heartfelt! Sam and his best men’s speeches were also amazing. Something that will stand out is when one of the best men joked that a groomsman had put £500 behind the bar for everyone. He hadn’t at that point, but then he did! The most memorable moment for me was walking down the aisle. I didn’t have my dad there, but my mum took on the role. I had never seen Sam cry, but to see him cry just made me feel so emotional and I felt s o loved at that moment. My friend also did a lovely reading which was really b eautiful. Having everyone chip in and help set up, getting to chill around the campfire, talk to friends and get ready with my girls was lovely. 40
