Your West Midlands Wedding- Page number 30 - August/September 2021 (Issue 75)

We chose my childhood church for the ceremony, as it only seemed right to tie the knot in a beautiful, familiar setting with a fabulous organ! When choosing our reception venue, we wanted it to be in the countryside to tie in with our nature theme. I adore animals and loved the idea of a barn wedding, so Coton House Farm Weddings & Events was perfect. We loved the fact that it had beautiful views and a paddock for outdoor games. The barn’s decoration reflected our love of nature. Our family friend, Jo Davis, did a beautiful job of arranging our wildflowers from Flowerology into mismatched jars on the tables. The finishing touches were the homemade bunting made by my auntie and the woodland wreath placed behind our seats. For the cake, we chose a three-tier masterpiece made by my mum and auntie. It was covered in buttercream and flowers and made up of fruitcake, chocolate, lemon and vanilla. Rupert’s grandpa, Alan, provided his dark blue Jaguar XJ to transport us, and my uncle drove the bridesmaids in a light blue Volkswagen Campervan. Our table plan was a rustic wooden board made by my dad with the table names hanging from a string. The tables were named after woodland creatures to reflect my love of animals. 30
